Neil Harper MSc., COHC

After graduating from the University of the West Indies with a BSc. in Zoology/ Chemistry and MSc. in Environmental Science & Management, he started his career as an environmental professional in 2000 with Epas Consultants Ltd., a small Environmental Consulting firm. Neil was able to quickly immerse himself in a variety of projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.  His scope of expertise grew beyond the traditional biological assessments of terrestrial and wetland habitats to include the design & implementation of Industrial Hygiene Studies, Ambient Air, Noise, Stack Emission Testing and Indoor Environmental Quality monitoring programmes.

Upon his departure from Epas he worked as an independent Consultant for several months, where among other projects, he engaged in Indoor Environmental Quality monitoring services for the Canadian High Commission as well as stack emission testing for Cambior Mines in Linden, Guyana.

He joined ROSE Environmental Ltd. in 2004 where he quickly rose to the position of Technical Manager, Special Projects and Air Quality.  His presence enabled ROSE to develop the company towards offering a consultancy service by enhancing their reporting capabilities and finding specific applications for product lines.  Intense product application and technical training and being immersed with equipment further grew his skills set to be able to provide support for a variety of product lines while still providing project design and execution for Industrial Hygiene and Indoor Environmental Quality applications.

He departed ROSE in 2006 to work with General Electric International Inc. to fulfil his ambitions of gaining multinational work experience in the realm of Environmental Health and Safety. At Trinity Power Limited, he dedicated six years in the Power Generation industry.

In 2012, Neil moved into the upstream oil and gas sector with BHP Billiton as an HSE Advisor on the Central Processing Platform in the Angostura Development. He later joined BP Trinidad and Tobago as a Health & Safety Site Lead supporting the Regional Logistics Team.

Neil is a well-rounded HSE professional, having made his mark in the multi-national environment. He now holds the reigns as co-founder and Managing Director of Equilibrium Environmental Services where he is intent on growing the company’s portfolio.
